'For the Eyes of the Beholder' Returns

Welcome back to my blog, "For the Eyes of the Beholder." I will use this blog to write about what I view as the most timely, pressing and interesting issues of the moment. My focus will be on politics, religion, culture and business. I will always appreciate all relevant feedback on my opinions.

This blog will be run in the spirit of America's Founding Fathers: It will be a public meeting space for all ideas, which can only be discredited by other ideas. It will be inspired by the Holy Spirit that runs through all life. For, without the Almighty, nothing is possible. My shortcomings have already been cleansed by the sacrifice of Jesus, the Christ.

I've been running 'For the Eyes of the Beholder' for about three years now, but unfortunately it has been up and down on the Web, moving from server to server and software platform to software platform. Spammers, despite my best efforts to block them, kept finding out how to break through, crippling my publication.

Finally, with the help of my developer friend, Wayne E. Seguin, we have developed our own blog software from scratch. We are running it on a privately owned server. We have taken steps to block spam. If you stay with us, you will notice improvments over time, and eventually evolutions, as this blog takes on new and better forms.

This new blog, which will incorporate the same blog articles from before, will pick up where the old blog left off in February 2007. I hope to add my voice to the growing chorus of Americans concerned about this country's direction, both in terms of its diversion from the Founders' intention and government's gross violations of the Constitution that limits its power and its turn toward a new form of paganism with its roots in materialism and "the culture of death" propogated by unscrupulous business practices and the main stream media.

As I write this, I am employed as a member of the media, but I hope that my work is by no means main stream. In my professional work, which you can review by clicking on the Articles link on this page, I strive to write pieces that describe what is happening - letting my readers decide what it means - rather than grabbing onto the buzz of the day and writing articles that promulgate unproved concepts and confuse the larger debate. When I must write articles on such spurious topics, I aim to inform the reader that the idea is unproven.

I chose to become a member of the media for one purpose alone: to inform the public on important matters it can react to; in other words: to help people become better citizens. In becoming a journalist, however, I am not of the mindset that I give up my citizenship, my right to petition the government for grievances or my right to express my opinions. As a matter of fact, I think by expressing my opinions, I benefit those who read my journalistic work. By knowing where I'm coming from, they can call me on any bias that I unknowingly allow to get through.

Thus, I intend for this blog to complement my professional work, both as a way to inform my readers who I am and so I can get involved in the matters that I can not address through my professional work. I do not pretend that I am perfect and know the best way to do everything, however. I welcome all debate so that the public can be better informed and more fully engaged through the process.

This blog is for the eyes of the beholder, or for anyone who happens to stop by for a read.
