MANCHESTER, N.H.--Calling new media journalists (and those reporters still doing their jobs) the "fifth estate" for their role in effectively checking and balancing the "Main Stream Media" as well as the government, media giant and entrepreneur Andrew Breitbart encouraged a crowd of about 500 people to follow in the founding fathers' footsteps and revolt against the tyrannical progressive movement that currently holds power in America.
Breitbart, publisher of Brietbart.com and Brietbart.tv, gained notoriety when his blog Big Government broke the news that ACORN employees across the nation enthusiastically supported an idea posed by undercover journalists to run a prostitution ring using minor illegal immigrant girls from El Salvador and U.S. government dollars. The story, also covered by Fox News, led to federal action against the group. Breitbart dubbed the ACORN bust "the Abu Ghraib of the Great Society." I can't disagree, but would note that this ACORN scandal (PDF) is much worse than one small group of rogue soldiers mistreating a bunch of terrorists.
Breitbart also publishes Big Hollywood and BigJournalism.
"This is war, and that's not even a metaphor," Breitbart told the crowd gathered for the seminar called "Grassroots Communication in the 21st Century," hosted by New Hampshire Steward. "If we don't put our best out there, we're going to lose. If we lose, we're going to lose our country."
You can watch much of the speech here, thanks to Granite Grok:
The statement, "This is war...," led to my realization that we are currently engaged in the second Civil War, or more accurately, the "Cold Civil War"--to coin a term, if you will. This war has been ongoing since the early 1900s in America, but also throughout the history of the world. Not until recently, really, has the side of liberty and peace started fighting back. God willing, this war will remain cold and we will be victorious without any violence at all.
Andrew Breitbart indicated that a peaceful victory is possible:
"These are the last days of disco, baby," he said, referring to the last musical form that Hippy progressives reveled in. "These decadent bastards are going down."
Progressives--In New Hampshire, they are led by Democratic Party leader Ray Buckley, Granite State Progress head Zandra Rice Hawkins, as well as several members of the SEIU--have and will continue to try to spread their talons into every aspect of society. They control the "Main Stream Media;" they are heavily infiltrated into colleges, universities and high schools, and they are working their way down to your toddler; and they have many seats in Congress. To defeat them, those of us who value traditional American values embodied in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution must either retake these institutions or create our own. It won't be easy, but we liberty advocates far outnumber (PDF) the progressives, so our victory can and will be achieved.
"Live free or die" is a "sexy" state motto, Breitbart said, referring to New Hampshire. A California resident, he said he literally grabbed the Earth when he arrived here today because he wanted to hold the land in the state that still most represents what our Founding Fathers wanted for America. Pray it always stays that way, and pray it spreads widely.
